Q2. How does ResQPortal work?

A2. ResQPortal is implemented as a set of Java servlets, residing on a Web server. ResQPortal works like an HTML gateway, translating 3270 data into HTML data and back. Users click on a link on your intranet/Internet page to access the host. The user's request is sent to the servlet, which connects to the host through TN3270/5250 connectivity. The host data stream is sent back to the server, which identifies it, applies any customization, converts the customization to HTML, and sends the HTML to the client.
