Q8. Does ResQPortal replace SNA system?

A8. Our products work with TN3270/5250 protocol and do not connect to hosts via SNA. You need a server that would acts as a gateway protocol converter, translating SNA data steams into TN3270/5250 and back, thus enabling TCP/IP connections to the host. IBM's solution is called Communication Server that can run on the Mainframe itself. Microsoft's alternative offering is called SNA Server.
