ResQ!Net Certified 100% Pure Java
New York (July 1998) -- Advanced Transition Technologies (AT2), Inc. announced today that ResQ!NetTM, a Web-enabling solution for graphically accessing host applications, was certified 100% Pure JavaTM by Sun Microsystems, Inc., with sponsorship provided by Sun's 100% Pure Java Program.
"We are delighted to award Advanced Transition Technologies 100% Pure Java certification for its ResQ!Net product," said George Paolini, director of corporate marketing at Sun Microsystems' Java Software. "As always, we are proud to see Java technology helping to leverage legacy systems and bring them to the Web."
Sun's 100% Pure Java Program was designed to help developers ensure that their programs would be portable across all Java compatible systems. Some products that use Java technology may run on some platforms but not on others, or may function differently across different platforms; but 100% certified programs can run anywhere among multiple environments. "We are proud to be certified," said President and COO Todres Yampel. "This is a validation of the development direction which we have been undertaking with ResQ!Net since its inception. What's the use of web-enabling a legacy system if it's still not going to be available to all users?"
100% Pure Java unites many operating systems with a common development platform, opening up new markets and opportunities while dramatically reducing product development cycles. AT2 has been using Java to ensure safe network delivery and streamline software development and deployment.
"We originally designed the product without dependence on any native code or platform implementation," explained Yampel. "Our product is running on multiple OS platforms - including Win 95, WinNT, OS/2, Sun SolarisTM, HP-UX - with various platforms - including Win 95, WinNT, OS/2, Sun SolarisTM, HP-UX - with various browsers, such as Netscape's Navigator, Microsoft's Internet Explorer, Sun's HotJavaTM browser, and Navio. In addition the product runs with a 1-second or better response time on network computers manufactured by IBM or Sun Microsystems."
ResQ!Net, AT2's signature product, includes its own TN3270/TN5250 connectivity. A special version called ResQ!Net for Host On-Demand integrates with IBM's Host On-DemandTM Web-enabling connectivity software. The patented proprietary ResQ!Net technology provides "on-the-fly" GUI presentation for all host application screens. The default GUI screens can be further customized by using the ResQ!Net Studio program. No programming is used or generated in this process, and there is no proprietary server component required.
