ResQ!Net Delivers Complete Linux Support
ResQ!Net and ResQ!Net for IBM's Host-On-Demand Provide Graphical Connectivity for Linux Workstation and Server Applications
New York, NY (March 2, 1999) - ResQNet.com, Inc. today announced complete Linux support with its flagship products, ResQ!Net and ResQ!Net for IBM's Host On-Demand. The ResQ!Net products provide graphical 3270/5250 host connectivity by instantly transforming clumsy old-fashioned mainframe and IBM AS/400 screens into modern graphical interfaces with an easy-to-use Windows look and feel.
Available as both a stand-alone application and as an add-on to IBM's eNetwork Host-On-Demand, ResQ!Net is a 100% pure Java applet that provides on-the-fly graphical connectivity to legacy host applications on the Internet, intranets, and extranets. The default graphical screens can be further rejuvenated with the ResQ!Net Customization Studio. Requiring no programming or scripting, ResQ!Net Customization Studio adds all the conveniences of the Windows environment including mouse capability, customizable fonts and colors, drag-and-drop fields with re-sequencing of tab order, and on-line help with search functions.
"As a 100% pure Java product, ResQ!Net delivers a platform-independent graphical terminal emulation that Linux users can easily use on both servers and workstations," commented Todres Yampel, president of ResQNet.com, Inc. "The elegant graphical user interface (GUI) that ResQ!Net provides will help streamline mainstream implementation of Linux as a workstation environment for even the most demanding user."
ResQ!Net is usable right out of the box with existing Linux applications. In addition to the default GUI, which provides menu buttons and hot spots, ResQ!Net studio component provides an elegant mechanism for customizing the graphical presentation of legacy Linux applications as desired by adding new fonts, macros, images, check boxes and more, all with easy translation into native languages.
A fully automatic 100% pure Java solution, ResQ!Net works as an applet when used with Java-enabled browsers or as an application in native Java Virtual Machines.
