Advanced Transition Technologies (AT2), Inc. Proudly Announces Receiving U.S. Patent #5530961

New York, NY. (Wednesday, July 17, 1996) - Advanced Transition Technologies, Inc. recently received a patent for the technology developed by CEO Gad Janay and President Todres Yampel to interpret 3270 and 5250 data screens for automatic conversion to more user friendly formats.

Advanced Transition Technologies built its first product, ResQ!™, around this newly patented process to create Windows screens on top of host systems without affecting the underlying applications. AT2's efforts on behalf of mainframe or mid-range users will undoubtedly result in a marked increase in productivity for all involved, not only end users but programmers and systems administrators as well: what makes this technology most exciting, as well as fundamentally different from other text screen conversion programs, is that it requires no coding or scripting.

"MIS directors are loath to change the code in their host system," said Yampel, "because it is very risky. Programming can cost hundreds of thousands of dollars, and there is no guarantee of results, not to mention that it takes a long time."

Let's face it, mainframe and midrange systems are the technological staple of the business world and they are going to be with us for a long time -- no one is going to discard a multi-million dollar system that does the job, just because it doesn't look pretty. But that doesn't mean we can't make them more user friendly and, therefore, more productive.

"You no longer have to live with the way the system was designed," Yampel said. "You have control."

AT2's products give your mainframe and midrange applications a makeover, by adding color, graphics, help files, mouse capability, and Windows functionality.

Joseph Landau of Union Bank of California, who is implementing a pilot system, recently praised ResQ! for what it has done for his bank's host system.

"It's now an easier system to learn, an easier system to implement," he said.

Typical buyers of ResQ! have large corporate or government environments with decades-old host systems. In fact, it was at the urging of department heads in dozens of major companies with expensive mainframe systems, like Union Bank of California, that ResQ! was first developed, and it has been thoroughly tested worldwide.

Besides marketing direct to end customers, AT2 is signing up VARs, distributors and resellers. They also plan to negotiate deals with manufacturers of connectivity packages to include ResQ! with their products as well.
