ResQNet.com, Inc.'s ResQNet 3.3 is a thin java applet that provides on-the-fly, default, or customized graphical connectivity to host applications on the Internet and on intranets. The product is available as a standalone application or as an add-on to IBM's eNetwork Host On-Demand.

ResQNet 3.3 is available in three modules: the Administration module, the Customization Studio, and the Client module. The Administration module sets up user profiles and lets IT staff verify global variables. The Customization Studio works with groups of objects to change properties such as font, color, size, and position.

The standalone version of ResQNet incorporates a secure socket layer (SSL) server component that handles transactions securely over the Web. Additional security is provided via the product's new keyboard remapping function, which allows users to disable certain keys to restrict access to particular information.

ResQNet can be installed in a browser's cache to reduce the applet's download time - a feature that is automatically activated if users decide to install Host On-Demand's Cached Client. Version 3.3 also includes a Telnet-enabled flag to access non-3270 Telnet screens to faciitate navigation through Telnet Gateways such as Interlink Hardware.

According to Jim Shapiro, ResQNet.com's executive vice president, the enhancements in ResQNet are driven not only by IBM and the company's existing customers, "but also by Lotus Development Corporation, who has expressed an interest in integrating ResQNet with it eSuite product line".

ResQNet includes a tab-order resequencing function that allows users to reorder the traditional tab sequence. The product's macro buttons feature has also been improved and now creates a one-touch environment for users to send information to multiple fields on the same screen. Moreover, a nes combined-screens function allows users to open multiple applications on one screen.
