ResQNet.com Announces the Release of ResQ!Net Version 3.2
Latest Editions of both ResQ!Net and ResQ!Net for IBM's Host On-Demand Include a Number of New Security and Customization Features
New York, NY--ResQNet.com announced the release of ResQ!Net Version 3.2, the latest edition of its thin Java applet that provides on-the-fly graphical connectivity to host applications on both the Internet and Intranets. Available as both a standalone application and as an add-on to IBM's eNetwork Host On-Demand, ResQ!Net v3.2 includes a number of new security and customization features.
In particular, ResQ!Net v3.2 now features an innovative new 'combined screens' function that serves to improve both ease-of-use and productivity, by allowing users to work with multiple applications simultaneously on a single screen. For added security, the standalone version also incorporates a new 'secure socket layer' (SSL) server component previously available in the IBM Host On-Demand version only. This valuable component helps to ensure that transactions over the Web will be handled in a safe manner. In addition, security is further advanced via ResQ!Net's new keyboard re-mapping function that allows users to disable certain keys to restrict access to sensitive information.
ResQ!Net v3.2 also includes a new 'tab-order re-sequencing' function that allows users to re-order traditional tab sequence to make it more intuitive and easier to use. This function is very useful in those instances when fields on the screen are rearranged for cosmetic or usability reasons. Additionally, an enhancement to ResQ!Net's Macro Buttons feature enables users to press a single button to send information to multiple fields on the same screen, and a new 'annotated translations of values for Choice and List Boxes' feature is included as well. This innovative function enhances ease-of-use by allowing users to display a descriptive word/words on the screen (e.g., Italian Lire), but to send a different word/value (e.g., ITL) to the host.
ResQNet.com Announces Release of ResQ!Net Version 3.2-Page 2 With ResQ!Net v3.2, administrators gain the ability to force a ResQ!Net session disconnect if the customized version of any screen is not available. This important security feature ensures that sensitive information that was hidden during customization will never be displayed. In addition, ResQ!Net now offers a screen printing function that lets users print host screen images, as well as a disconnect feature that allows users to set up a button on the screen that will terminate the connection with the host system making the session available to the next user. This is especially valuable for applications where access is given to "occasional" users in cases when signing off does not cause a disconnect.
"The additional security features we've included in ResQ!Net Version 3.2 were included in direct response to the growing need today for companies to provide broader Web-based access to their host applica-tions by occasional users, said Todres Yampel, President and the inventor of the proprietary patented ResQ! Technology. "The various enhancements in ResQ!Net Version 3.2 were not only driven by IBM and our existing customers, but also by Lotus Development Corp., who has expressed an interest in integrating ResQ!Net with its eSuite product line," said Jim Shapiro, ResQNet.com Executive Vice President.
