Client-to-AS/400Green-screen to Wireless in Just Two Days!
New York, N.Y. - ResQNet.com has built a wireless component into its enterprise portal. ResQ/ME allows AS/400 and S/390 users to redeploy application for two-way communication with personal digital assistants (PDAs) such as Palm Pilots and Microsoft's PocketPC and mobile phones equipped with Wireless Application Protocol (WAP) - enabled micro-browsers.
ResQ/ME is being sold as a part of the ResQPortal, which ResQNet.com announced earlier this year. That product includes a drag-and-drop redevelopment component called the Customization Studio that allows users to map 5250 or 3270 applications to the smaller interface on PDAs and the WAP-enabled phones. No scripting or programming is required, the company said, and after the typical two-day training period, users will be able to transform green screen into wireless interfaces at the rate of 10 per day.
Additionally, the company released ResQ/Enable, a service offering based on ResQ/ME for wireless-enabling up to two legacy applications for redeployment on personal digital assistants (PDAs) from Palm and the software firm from Redmond, Wash., all for about $50,000. ResQPortal installs on Windows NT, Linux, and AIX platforms running an IBM Apache, or Lotus Web server and Web applications servers such as those from IBM, Bluestone, Netscape, or Sun Microsystems. The base price includes a license for 25 users. Additional users start at $150.
