October 18, 1999 - ResQNet.com announces ResQ!Net 4.0, a new version of its thin Java applet that provides graphical connectivity to AS/400 and other host applications via intranets and the Internet. Version 4.0 adds a custom applets function that lets users launch their own Java applets to merge data from multiple systems or send data to servlets and other processing agents, includes a Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) that helps simplify end-user navigation to hosts, and delivers an advanced macro facility that lets administrators hide screens and screen objects or modify host input. Other new features include extension of ResQ!Net’s database access functions and a facility that lets users launch PC applications locally.
